I was watching Ceriwis this morning. The guest stars were Nikita Willy and Arumi (Afgan’s girlfriend). They were going to talk about their education, since Nikita attends public school and Arumi favors home schooling. Nikita didn’t talk too much, which was good cause it helped keep her stupidity hidden (at least until the later segment of the show). But Arumi talked a lot about how she had been easily distracted from the lesson during her time in public school by her friends and how, instead of listening to the teacher, she spent more time during classes talking to her friends. Right from this point, I knew Arumi was dumb. But it was just the beginning.
It was the small quiz that attracted my attention. So the hosts asked them several questions to test their knowledge, something they didn’t really have.
And this is the quiz, I tried to quote them as similar as possible.
Q = Question, A = Arumi, N = Nikita.
Q : Apa yang disebut dengan simbiosis mutualisme?
A : (looking confused, muttering) Simbiosis mutualisme. Simbiosis mutualisme. Apa sih simbiosis mutualisme?
N : (looking confused, after a while answered) Eemm… ga tau awalnya tapi akhirannya saling menguntungkan.
Q : 5000 dekameter, kalau dalam satuan kilometer jadi berapa?
Nikita didn’t even try to answer, seemed like she couldn’t find anything in her head related to dekameter. After a while of thinking, trying to sort centimeter, meter, until kilometer…
A : (shouting, very confidently) 50.000 km!
Q : Salah. Yang benar adalah 50 kilometer.
Gee… don’t you know that kilometer is a bigger unit than dekameter? So the number should have less 0’s!
Q : Siapa nama suami Cut Nyak Dien?
Nikita didn’t try to answer, probably due to the same case, she couldn’t find the name Cut Nyak Dien in her head.
A : (stupidly) Aku nggak tau… habisnya aku aja belum merencanakan untuk punya. (thingking, ended up answering) Teuku Nyak Dien.
Doh! What a brilliant answer!
Q : Jawabannya adalah Teuku Cik Ditiro.
To be honest, I didn’t think of Teuku Cik Ditiro, what popped in in my mind was Teuku Umar, Cut Nyak Dien’s second husband.
Then I laughed my ass off.
See how stupid they are? Even my mother, who spends time watching stupid gossip shows and stupid soap operas, can answer 2 out of 3 questions correctly.
I bet they’ll never win against the kids in ‘Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader?’ show.
Maybe they’ll win if it’s ‘Are You Smarter Than A 1st Grader?’
No wonder lots of people associated beauty with stupidity. We can’t blame them. There are only so many stupid beauties out there.
